THE STORY SO FAR

Since September 2005, the Charity has provided funding for the following:-

           * Programmes in 15 primary schools in and around Reading               (Berksire) where 3,500 children have been introduced to the game

            *  Additional opportunities and facilities for keen and talented
                children to play at weekends at parks and local clubs.
           
            *  Kit bags, comprising a mini tennis net, tennis balls and 16 rackets                 for use as part of school or after-school activities.

            *  The initiation of a programme of Tennis Teachers’ Courses to train                 school teachers to deliver tennis in PE lessons.

The Reading budget amounts to around £15,000 per annum and the scheme is being run by Gary Drake and the Berkshire Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

The charity now has sufficient funds to embark upon the following new projects:

            *  A similar scheme in North Kent to be run by Richard Whichello                 and Kent LTA

            * A third scheme in Peckham (south London) to be run by the Surrey                LTA. 

A budget of £45,000 over the next three years has been set for each centre.

            *  Part financing two community coaches in Merton and Wandsworth

A budget of £10,000 p.a. for the next three years has been set towards the costs of the coaching scheme.
