The Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis (EBAT) is a charity that was launched by Olympian, British Federation Cup member and WTA tennis pro Elena Baltacha-Severino and her husband Nino Severino in 2010.
Elena's vision was to ensure tennis was taken to every school in Ipswich so all children, rich or poor, could enjoy the wonderful game of tennis. EBAT offers a tennis programme to any of the children that want to build on this road show experience. It was Elena's vision that as many barriers as possible were removed so all children could play tennis.
At EBAT, there are no membership fees, no upfront payments, only a pay as you play policy. The academy offers fun recreational tennis programmes, but also elite programmes that include squads, pairs and private sessions, sport science, strength and conditioning programmes as well as national and international tennis training experiences.
The Foundation offers support to any families who struggle to support their tennis needs and are committed to taking the game of tennis to deprived areas of Ipswich.
