Barnet

Burnt Oak Leisure Centre and GIYM have teamed up to launch Barnet’s new School Tennis programme from September 2015. The Burnt Oak facility has outdoor tennis courts available year round with sports hall access available to keep the programme running during poor weather conditions.

Burnt Oak Leisure Centre is managed by leisure operator Better who also manages the GIYM programme at Paddington Recreation Ground along with the iconic Olympic venues of the Copperbox Arena and London Aquatic Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The centre is an accredited Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) centre which provides year round activities for all ages and abilities across the sport, health and wellbeing spectrum. Burnt Oak Leisure Centre also offers an outstanding 110 station gym split over two floors, sports hall, astro pitch and junior grass pitches.

The junior tennis programme at Burnt Oak offers weekly group lessons for juniors, school holiday sessions and drop in sessions along with involvement in national campaigns of Mini Tennis Month and Great British Tennis Weekend.

Burnt Oak Leisure Centre hope to engage and encourage many young local children to participate and develop their skills in tennis. The facility’s partnership with GIYM will help to achieve this goal by introducing tennis into local schools.
