Paul Riley is a GP in Merton with an interest in reducing health inequality through public and patient education, with particular attention to the underlying social determinants, and prevention and self-management of, chronic disease.
On the tennis court he represented Surrey County as a junior before captaining Cambridge and a combined Oxbridge and Cambridge team at university. He competed for The Wimbledon Club in national club and county leagues and has represented the International Lawn Tennis Club of Great Britain. From 2013-17 he was the tennis chairman of The Wimbledon Club and oversaw the implementation of professionally managed adult and junior programmes with local school and university links.
Through his personal and professional experience Paul is passionate about the profound impact sport and tennis can make on young people’s lives both in terms of their physical and mental health and equipping them with lifelong transferable skills that will prepare them for a successful future. He is delighted to be a trustee of Give It Your Max and support their work to ensure these opportunities are available to children who can benefit most.
